When too much celebration is the right amount…

Did I ever tell you about the time I celebrated so hard, I almost slept through a panel appearance!?

Six years ago, I launched the Kickstarter campaign that would take my Cute Little Fuckers dream and make it a reality. Kickstarter can be such a crapshoot, and I didn’t know how things would go. 

Heck, I didn’t even know if the Kickstarter would happen at all.

But I spent a ton of time putting the campaign together, launched it on a Tuesday afternoon, and hoped for the best. 

I never in my wildest dreams expected that CLF would be completely funded in just one day, but as the numbers continued to climb, the excitement built between me and my friends. We gathered to watch the numbers tick up together. And as the last friend arrived, the campaign crossed the threshold to success.

HOLY SHIT! We were fully funded!

We all started going NUTS. We threw on some music. We danced our hearts out. There was ridiculous karaoke. Someone literally pied me in the face! 

And I don’t quite remember how we got there, but I do remember that at one point, there were way too many people in the shower… maybe it had something to do with the pie?

We were so over the moon, and partied for so long, I ended up Ubering home at 4 a.m. on a freaking Tuesday night. Of course, I immediately passed out, exhausted.

Hours passed while I slumbered away, and then my phone rang at 12:15pm.  Hey, said the caller, hesitantly. The Kickstarter hardware panel is starting in 10 minutes. You still coming? I completely forgot I had agreed to be on a panel that afternoon about successfully launching hardware projects on Kickstarter. 😬 

Y’all. I arrived at that panel 5 minutes late, climbed onstage, and immediately apologized with the biggest smile on my face. Sorry I’m late! I told everyone in attendance. My Kickstarter was successful last night, and we couldn’t help but celebrate…

Everyone cheered wildly. 

What better way to kick off a panel on Kickstarter success than with a successful campaign?? 😂

Such a fun beginning for Cute Little Fuckers, and so rad that we continue to grow six years later.

I continue to love and be amazed every second of it.
