USA Mental Health & Direct Action Resources

by Step Tranovich on November 08, 2024

Hey Fam,

I'm sure many of you feel sad, and I'm sure many of you feel scared. I know I do, I'm devastated. But we are also strong. Queer, trans, disabled, sex positive communities, we have weathered a lot, we have fought for a lot, and we've made a ton of progress. While the US government feels like it can be slipping backwards, remember that culturally we are in a more progressive place than ever in history, our values have more widespread support than ever before, and we have so much strength to connect and support each other in community.

I have a lot of resources to share for all of you, but the thing I want to encourage you to do first is connect with your community. If you are somewhere that has local community, find your local queers, find your radical community, and remind yourselves and each other that you are strong together. If not, online there is a lot of community who loves you and wants you here.

Now that you have your badass crew, my friends at the Modern Family Institute threw together this awesome list of resources for kicking ass and taking care of ourselves. Please read and share!

Even if you can do nothing but be here, that is enough. You existing as you are makes a difference. Thank you for existing, and know we are here with you.

As the legendary Carol Queen once said, Cute Little Fuckers is an activist project in an adorable package. That's always been true from day one, when we were kicking down walls at Kickstarter, and that will always be true. I will always be here fighting for us, caring for us. I love my community, I love you all, and whatever happens we will take it on together.
