I know these emails are usually about sex positivity and adorable monsters. But this week, I want to talk about something different: tabletop role playing games! Specifically, one I’m releasing!!!
For the past few years, I have been hard at work building my own little tabletop role-playing game, and it’s FINALLY ready to come out. And y’all… it is so. rad. My TTRPG is called Midnight Press, and it has major film-noir vibes, allowing players to sink themselves into 1940s San Francisco and uncover corruption, chase leads, and more. And because it’s me, you know it’s also queer AF.

The reason I’m mentioning it here? Well, we all know that queer and neurodivergent folks love TTRPGs. 💕
Or at least that’s how it seems to me. There’s just something about them that invites creativity, self-expression, goofiness, and no-holds-barred gender exploration.
In fact, when I was in high school and college—when I was still a little egg—I used to constantly play characters all over the gender map. It’s only later that I realized this was obviously part of my own gender exploration journey… and since then I learned that a lot of people have had that same experience.
It doesn’t hurt that these types of games have historically been queer-inclusive. Dungeons & Dragons, for example—one of the most popular and well-known TTRPGs—has had openly queer people working on the business side of things for some time and, perhaps because of that, the game has had strong queer representation. 🐲⚔️🧙 🌈
Obviously, my own game—Midnight Press—is also super queer, from the character designs to the character classes to the canonically queer NPCs.
All in all, it’s a super gender fucky game, and I know it’s gonna be fun as hell for a lot of you.
