Are you responsive or spontaneous? (Sex Health Tip #822)

by Step Tranovich on October 18, 2024

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but pop culture tends to serve up just one type of desire—the spontaneous kind—where folks are instantly horny for each other, ready to get busy after one smoldering glance.

But not everyone experiences spontaneous desire.

Responsive desire is super common for a lot of folks. That’s when you experience pleasure and, in response, think:

Oh yeah! Some sexy-sex could be fun!

The source of that pleasure can be anything from emotional connection to physical closeness, but physical stimulation is a biggie, too.

And I happen to know six adorable monsters who are pretty darn awesome at serving up pleasure…

Some folks feel crappy about themselves because they don’t experience spontaneous desire. But that’s just bonkers.

Responsive desire is totally common and rad!

If you feel disconnected from your body and from desire, that may just mean you lean toward responsive desire. In order to activate it, focus on pleasure. Play around with what makes you feel good, whether that’s nestling your nips between Zeep’s antennae or grinding the heck out of Starsi.

If your body finds that it’s having a good time, it may decide that sex is a really good idea, which could mean settling in for some extended solo play or bringing a partner or two into the mix.

What does your body respond to best?

These monsters can help! Check ’em out!
